Old book with handSelf-publishing is no longer the dirty word it once was. Unfortunately, it’s going to take some time for some people to realize that. If everyone who had access to desktop publishing in the 1990s had done a stellar job, this wouldn’t be the case. But after ten years of schlock, it’s going to take many, many more beautiful, perfect books to overcome the stigma.

So it’s up to you. You need to do your homework. Fortunately, you are in the place to do just that. Find a great crew, and get to work. Because making a book is a huge undertaking, there’s lots of moving parts, and the book is really only just the beginning.

In this section, we’ll talk about cover design, endorsements, crowd-sourcing, timelines and more. Still with me? Great. Let’s get started.

  1. I self-published one book already, but would like to do another . I am hoping to find this a helpful place to make self-publishing #2 less expensive and yet still very rewarding and excellent. I can use all the help I can get. Looking forward to browsing this site often.
